I'm starting to take some real steps towards becoming a single mom by choice - or at least real steps for me. It's been in the back of my mind for a while, but I actually joined an SMC email list recently and have been researching sperm donors online, as well as journaling both privately and now online about what being a choice mom would mean for me and my life and my child.
I'm definitely still in the thinking stage - I'm not at a place in my life yet where I'm ready to move into the trying stage (way too busy with work right now and want to save up some money before I start). But it feels like a weight lifted off of my shoulders to be actively looking into the issues - although I have to remember that it will still be a while before I am actually, physically a mom. Life is a process!
